Teresa Hasenour

Teresa is a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) who completed her Master’s Degree (graduated summa cum laude) in Occupational Therapy (OT) in Milwaukee, WI in 2004. Teresa realized her passion for CranioSacral Therapy in 2003, when she had the opportunity to take a six week class while in graduate school. She sought out further CranioSacral Therapy (CST) training through the Upledger Institute shortly after college in 2004.

In 2007 Teresa moved from Freeport, Illinois to Portland, Oregon, where she worked full-time as an OT in the hospital setting (specialized in ICU care and persistent pain). Through her CranioSacral Therapy lens, Teresa saw a window of opportunity to be able to help ICU patients sooner than previously believed from Occupational Therapy which aims to help people regain function in their daily lives. CranioSacral Therapy techniques are typically very subtle and use a very light-touch, which is purposeful to not elicit the body’s natural protective mechanisms. CST works with freeing up restrictions in our system with a primary focus on intra-cranial membranes that support and protect the brain and spinal cord. In 2015 she followed her heart’s dream by gradually building a side business with focus on CranioSacral Therapy and Reiki.

Teresa moved from Portland, OR to Madison, WI in 2021 to be closer to family and offer CranioSacral Therapy Services as her primary OT role. Teresa has extensive training through her work as an acute care OT in the hospital setting on pain management and education, as well as training and exposure to working with people experiencing a variety of conditions. Teresa became a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor in 2018, hosted Yomassage classes combining restorative yoga and massage. Over the years Teresa has been more interested in “pre-habilitation”, supporting health and wellness for herself and others. She is always interested in learning more about meditation, fitness, yoga, and nutrition. Being in nature, having fun with family, friends and relaxing at home fill her cup. Teresa is looking forward to supporting people on their own wellness journey through the use of CranioSacral therapy.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What My Clients Say

"Teresa has a very gentle and attuned presence. She helped me to feel comfortable both through sharing about the craniosacral therapy process and by giving me lots of agency to make choices during the session. Teresa is very curious, supportive, and open to feedback and questions." - Lisa T.

What My Clients Say

"I worked with Teresa for years, and as a Bodyworker and Quantum Healer with decades of experience, I will share that she is an attentive, focused, and relaxing healer. Teresa's Craniosacral Therapy technique is so effective, that I experienced in every session, moments of being out of body, just above in the field, and I became more aware of how I hold onto tension in the spine, which is a major contributor to exhaustion, energetic depletion, restless sleep, and upper body pain. Her sessions are Intuitively progressive in helping one heal, and she uses the subtle energies to tune into the body, listening to where the body needs shifts. I highly recommend everyone experiences multiple sessions to receive the optimal benefits. Her passion to Serve those who need help is evident. Seriously....Teresa is The Real Deal. " - Anastasia S.

What My Clients Say

"Teresa is an extremely gifted and talented practitioner.  Her intuition and knowledge of the body and movement make me feel confident that my issues are being addressed on the deepest levels possible.  I always leave feeling calm and uplifted.  Thanks, Teresa!" - Mark D.

What My Clients Say

"I suffered from sciatica for six months before visiting Teresa.  Her craniosacral therapy not only alleviated the pain for some 24 to 48 hours following my visit but also helped with my full recovery within the month of first receiving the treatment." - Sandra B.

What My Clients Say

"Sessions with Teresa have been incredibly transformative! She combines her innate sense of empathy for others with a deep understanding of craniosacral therapy techniques to help disentangle knots holding back the natural flow of energy within oneself. It has been a blissful inner journey of self-rediscovery experienced with an incredibly patient and a caring guide. She’s amazing!" - Amanda W.

What My Clients Say

"Teresa has been amazing - I was t-boned in a car accident in the fall of 2016 and had horribly debilitating headaches for months afterward... her treatments not only lessened the severity of those headaches when they did come on, but I went from 4-5 per week to 1 every other month or so."

- Bianca Z.

What My Clients Say

"Our entire family (my wife, son, daughter and myself) received craniosacral therapy treatment by Teresa regularly for over two years. We each were extremely positively affected by Teresa and her work. She is not only highly skilled at reading and adjusting imbalances, the tone of the atmosphere she set was consistently highly conducive to physical and mental healing. She is extremely empathic, forthright-while-tactful, and, again, highly skilled at inducing low-impact but highly effective improvements that induce healing and relaxation. We've each previously worked over time with several chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists and others in this "general" field. And I'm a lifelong martial arts practitioner and highly particular about anyone in this field who works on me. Teresa stands out as the most effective helping professional in this arena that has treated me. My highest recommendation!" - Mia L.

"By the end of the tenth session, I could hardly believe the transformation that took place over time. Only by looking back to session one can I truly appreciate how far I’ve come. The changes were incremental, and minuscule at times, but that’s how lasting change eventuates."

Laura Thomas

"Eleven months ago, at the age of 22, I had a spinal repair of my L5-S1 vertebrae. This was the last resort to continuing back issues from the age of 10.  I am currently pain free and have not felt this good in a very long time.  If bodywork is desired, then Alex is the person to see."

Michael Locasto

"As a licensed therapeutic bodyworker myself, I choose Alex as my bodywork therapist.  It is the focus, self-authenticity, and centered presence that Alex brings to his work that truly makes him a gifted healer."

Courtney Cowie, LMBT

"He works with both confidence and curiosity, and has a special ability to hold space for his clients free from judgement and expectation. As a result of this work I now inhabit my body in new ways."

Annemarie Kalson

"For the last 15+ years I’ve learned to function outside of my body as a method to suppress emotions and also as a protective means in an effort to deal with chronic pain. Not only has Ellen helped me find the ability to listen to my body, but she helped me find my voice and confidence, both of which I was previously greatly lacking. Ellen was a voice of strength when celebrating my success, and she also provided unwavering support when some of the work brought up “old stuff” that felt scary for a short time. To infer that the work we’ve done together has been transformational would truly be an understatement. Not only has my physical pain reduced, my relationships with my family and partner have flourished due to my ability to regulate myself and effectively communicate needs and hold appropriate boundaries. I am so grateful to Ellen for all she has done, and I look forward to continuing our work together as we continue to work on releasing the chronic stress and tension in my body, helping to calm my nervous system, and ultimately move toward an even more comfortable state of embodiment."

"Working with Ellen one-on-one was an incredible deep dive into self-knowledge through experiencing my body. Where Ellen shines is her talent for creating a space for exploration that is gentle, honest, safe, and empowering all at once. Ellen’s knowledge and expertise are clear, but her approach is one of partnership. And it works! I clearly see the physical and emotional results."

"I've always been someone who'd rather be in the library than at the gym. So when I seriously herniated a disc in my lower back, I was completely unprepared for the recovery process. The injury was very bad, and I had to have surgery for pain relief. The surgery was successful, but for many years my core and leg muscles remained incredibly weak and intractable, and I was living with chronic nerve pain in my legs.

Then, after multiple unsuccessful rounds of physical therapy, I met Ellen, and working with her changed my life. She met me where I was with my body and mind-body connection, which felt like rock bottom. She taught me fundamental somatics exercises for recovering command of my body, and radical knowledge for developing my own daily somatics practices. It's not an exaggeration to say her therapy renewed my relationship with myself. Today I feel more cognizant and comfortable in my body than I've ever felt before in my life. My daily life isn't organized around nerve pain anymore, and I'm able to relax and move again. I actually feel more desire to move and grow than ever before. I can't testify to her work and wisdom enthusiastically enough."
