How To Achieve Peace With Zero Balancing

What is Zero Balancing?

Zero Balancing (ZB) was created by Dr. Fritz Smith, an osteopath with extensive experience and training in osteopathy, acupuncture, rolfing, and meditation. Zero balancing is a body-mind therapy that blends Eastern and Western practices. Our Zero Balancing practitioners guide you towards harmony and balance through touch that releases the energy that weighs you down.

During a ZB session your provider will “apply finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganize. By addressing the deepest and densest tissues of the body along with soft tissue and energy fields, Zero Balancing helps to clear chronic tension and blocks in the body’s energy flow. ZB has been shown to reduce stress, amplify vitality and promote better postural alignment.”

How does the blend of Eastern and Western practices in ZB help me?

ZB draws upon Eastern philosophy’s emphasis on meditation, energy, harmony, balance, and healing rituals. ZP providers study how energy moves through your body and help your body find more flow and balance in the physical and energetic fields.

The Western influence comes in through a focus on the physical structure, physiology and anatomy. ZB providers fuse the Eastern and Western practices by working in the space where energy meets structure.

Where does the excess energy come from?

According to Dr. Fitz Smith, our bones, the strongest tissue in the body, hold ancestral energy and experiences from early childhood development. Our bones are the base of who we are and contain energy that molded our identity. ZB can clear blockages in these old energy patterns, freeing us up to live a life that is in harmony with our true self.

How can ZB assist me in reaching expanded states of consciousness, healing, and meditation?

Healing and meditation come hand in hand. Meditation helps us quiet our monkey mind and achieve inner peace. However, meditation can take years of practice and dedication before we reach a deep level of meditation. According to Dr. Fritz Smith, ZB takes you into a state of deep meditation through touch. Through touch our practitioners interact with your neurological system and quiet your racing mind.

How can ZB help me reach a meditative state in and out of session?

ZB gives you a taste of harmony and inner peace through touch. Once you have experienced that harmony and calmed your body it will be easier to reach that inner calm through meditation.

Through this facilitated meditative state, our body learns how to settle and quiet itself. This facilitated practice helps us build the capacity for quieting our mind when we come to the cushion for a formal meditation. It will additionally help us connect to a grounded and centered place which will improve our concentration and focus while engaging in everyday tasks..
